Today in AI: Becoming an AI authority + How to make money with AI
Still a quiet week for AI news! Makes me wonder what’s coming! So today's different - a step-by-step guide to becoming the AI expert in your niche.
I’m launching Freedom OS on Saturday - but today's about one specific path: becoming the go-to AI person in YOUR industry.
Why This Opportunity Exists Right Now
The gap: Tons of generic AI experts. Almost ZERO specifically teaching AI to teachers, social workers, accountants, retail workers, engineers - specific industries.
Your advantage: If you're reading this, you're in the tiny percentage actually paying attention. You're already ahead of 90%++ of your industry who are either burying heads in sand or just dabbling with ChatGPT like it's Google.
The play: Become the bridge between general AI knowledge and your specific industry. Jobs are wobbly, but if YOU'RE showing your industry how to use AI, you're untouchable. Not just secure but you’ll have a strong foundation to build any business moving forward.
Watch the full guide on Youtube for the complete context. I’ll run through the main steps here.
Step 1: Choose Your Platform (Spoiler: It's TikTok)
I’ll make this simple for you.
Format MUST be video:
Text content = flooded with AI, impossible to compete
Faceless video = AI slop territory
Face-on-camera = hardest to fake, builds real connection, also the “hardest” - reducing your competition
It’s what people want to watch. It’s what the platforms want. Do this. Not what you want.
Platform hierarchy:
TikTok (best) - Algorithm treats every video independently. New account can hit 1M views regardless of account size, which doesn’t happen anywhere else. Rewards talking heads rather than highly edited.
Instagram (second) - Size of account matters. Wants consistency over time. Prefers polished content over talking head (which has knock on effects with your content output)
Everything else (skip for now) - LinkedIn, Twitter, Substack all fine but less impactful.
TikTok doesn't care about your follower count. Instagram wants to see your track record. On TikTok, your first video could go to a million people. It won't on Instagram. You can (and will) repurpose and repost everywhere later but right now TikTok is the best starting place hands down.
Step 2: Post Every Single Day (Yes, Really. Sorry!)
Daily?? What the hell. This is not for the algorithm - for YOUR creative habit. Like brushing teeth. Has to become automatic. If you over complicate this you’ll miss days and fall of the wagon. Just make it daily and frictionless.
The format that makes daily possible:
Talking head only - no editing, no B-roll, no fancy titles
30-60 seconds max
Record sentence by sentence if needed (both platforms allow)
Talk → Post → Done (5 minutes total)
Sit down, camera, blah blah blah, post. Remove ALL complexity. No scheduling, no batch filming, no b-roll, no dancing, no editing days. Just daily habit yapping to camera.
Step 3: What to Talk About (Copy Everything)
Basically see what other people are posting and record your own spin on them. No need to reinvent the wheel, at least not initially. Just find a handful of creators you respect, sort their videos by popularity and copy (with your focus). That’s it.
Don't overcomplicate. Three starter videos everyone needs:
"AI Accounts to Follow" - List 3-5 creators, why they're good. Gets you on their radar. And it’s a content type that works well.
"Current AI Models Explained" - ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini. Which one for your industry. You know this. People in your industry do not. Help them.
"My Daily AI Stack" - The 3 tools you actually use. Cut through the noise of the thousands of trash tools out there.
Then just copy: GPT-5 releases? Make "What GPT-5 means for [your industry]." See what's working for others, narrow it to your niche. And repeat. That’s it. Shamelessly copy until you're comfortable. Content pillars, series, strategy - that's for later. Just copy what works for now to get into the creative habit.
Step 4: Stick With It (The Hard Part)
I did 2-3 videos daily for 6 months before breakthrough. At 100 followers thinking "nobody's watching." It sucks.
Funnily enough every creator in my creator WhatsApp groups went through this - their viral video was one they DIDN'T expect. For me it was a random video about the RISEN framework. I was wearing my jacket indoors because trying to leave the house to meet friends at the pub. Knew I had to get my daily video done so sit down, rambled for 3 minutes and pressed post. No edits, no nothing.
Comments included lots of "Why are you wearing a coat inside?" But the video hit 3-4 million views and gained me 20k followers in a weekend. Off to the races.
Your breakthrough video will be the same. You won’t be able to predict which one it’ll be. But the only way to ensure it happens is to stay in the game.
The timeline:
0-3 months: Building habit, finding voice
3-6 months: The grind, questioning everything
6-12 months: Something clicks, hockey stick growth
May be faster. May take longer. But it’ll kick off eventually as you keep publishing, keep improving, keep showing up. The only way to guarantee it doesn’t happen is quitting.
Step 5: Monetisation (Multiple Paths)
Once you start building an audience in the AI niche you’ll be able to monetise quickly. There is a lot of money in the sector. Lots of sponsorship opportunities, lots of free flowing cash.
At 10,000 followers:
First sponsorship requests arrive
Speaking opportunities begin
Workshop invitations start
At 100,000 followers:
$1-2k per sponsored video (under 100k)
$5k per video (over 100k)
Package deals: 6 videos for $25-30k
Conference keynotes
Corporate training
Personally I don’t do sponsorships. But it’s good money! For me personally it’s drive to newsletter → Sell own products. That’s also a very strong option for you moving forward- leveraging own audience for own products.
The Complete Protocol
Platform: TikTok first, Instagram second
Format: Face to camera, no editing
Frequency: Every single day, no exceptions
Content: Copy what works, narrow to your niche
Timeline: 6-12 months minimum commitment
Monetisation: Sponsorships OR own products
The rewards are there for those who stick with it. Most quit at month 2. Winners keep going to month 6.
Is this easy? Nope! But if it was the rewards wouldn’t be so juicy.
Q&A Highlights:
"What if I hate being on camera?" Don't do faceless - AI owns that space. This is hard but it's the moat. Public speaking will be valuable human skill when AI takes over tasks. So…do what I did and suck it up. It becomes easier but it will hurt initially.
"How much can you really make?" I charge $2000/hour for workshops which come from my audience primarily. Friends charge £5k per sponsored video. And I’ve sold a couple hundred thousand worth of product from my audience too. How much you make depends on what you do with your audience entirely - but there’s definitely cash on the table if you want it.
"What about editing and production value?" Forget it all. My viral video was garbage - coat indoors, rushing out, terrible audio. Focus on showing up daily, not perfection. Later once you’re rocking and rolling sure hire an editor. But until then focus on consistency and getting better at talking - which costs nothing!
